Miles & More Self Services

Miles & More Self Services want to make their contribution to a bit more freedom. Because with them, you can sort out any matters relevant to award miles easily yourself: with the numerous functions, you can take control of any of your concerns yourself - whenever you want and wherever you happen to be. For example, you can change the content of your profile or login data, book flight awards online or arrange a mileage credit by photograph directly via the app.

Can I cancel or rebook my flight award ticket once it has been issued?

If you wish to cancel your flight award ticket, the award miles will be credited back to your mileage account once the cancellation has been completed. Miles cannot be refunded with reduced flight awards.

It is possible to rebook flight award tickets within the validity period for the ticket. You can change the date and time, but not the route. Tickets for Fly Smart flight award and mileage bargains cannot be changed once they have been issued.

Please contact your Miles & More Service Centre if you wish to cancel or rebook a ticket. In both cases a fee of €50 per ticket will be charged; this amount may vary or there may be no fee with some flight awards.

How can I book a flight award?

The quickest way to your flight award ticket is an online reservation via the Miles & More website. Here you will find flight connections with almost all our airline partners and can book these straight away.

In addition, your Miles & More Service Team will of course be happy to help you make a reservation. Please have your PIN ready to hand for a telephone booking for identification purposes.

Is an advance seat reservation possible on award flights?

You can reserve a seat for award flights with some partner airlines both with online award bookings and when booking via the Miles & More Service Centre. You can also make an advance seat reservation after booking; you can do this quickly and easily online via your Booking summary.

Whether a reservation is free of charge depends on the conditions of the airline concerned. In the event of an advance seat reservation that requires payment or if no advance seat reservation is available for the airline you have booked via the website or the Miles & More Service Team, please contact the airline directly to book your preferred seat.

What does it cost to rebook or cancel an award flight?

You will be charged €50 per ticket to rebook or cancel a flight award. This amount may vary or there may be no charge at all with certain flight awards. Please note also that rebookings may result in additional charges or refunds for taxes, fees and surcharges.

Can I settle the taxes, fees and surcharges for a flight with miles?

At a flat rate of 15,000 award miles we offer you the option of paying with miles for the taxes, fees and surcharges for an award flight immediately at the time of booking or when the ticket is issued.

This offer applies on flights operated by Lufthansa and selected airline partners within Europe – even on connecting flights. You can choose the option both for an online booking and a booking made via your local Miles & More Service Team.

In order to use the awards chart, the country allocation information shown in this chart also allows you to find out which regions your departure and arrivals airports belong to. This is the only way you can calculate the number of miles required.

Please note that a binding statement about the mileage price for your preferred award can only be made directly at the time of your booking enquiry, since this is always based on the precise routing.

Where can I find the online check-in?

You can use the Lufthansa online check-in for the following flights:


  • Lufthansa flights worldwide
  • Austrian Airlines flights between Germany and Austria
  • LOT Polish Airlines flights departing from Germany (except HAM and STR)
  • Adria Airways and Croatia Airlines flights departing from Germany
  • Scandinavian Airlines flights departing from Germany (except DUS, HAM and TXL)

    For flights operated by all other airlines not specified here and for code-share flights operated by another airline, but which are booked with a flight number from the airlines stated above, you can only check in directly with the operating airline on the relevant website.

Can I also arrange for awards to be issued to friends and acquaintances?

You can also request flight, upgrade or merchandise awards for family members, or friends and acquaintances from your Miles & More account.
With flight and upgrade awards it is not necessary for you to travel with them.

It is therefore generally possible to share awards with third parties in your circle of friends and family free of charge. Selling, exchanging or auctioning awards is prohibited.


Tip: If your own mileage account balance is not sufficient for the awards that you wish to give, members from Germany, Austria or Switzerland have the option of setting up a mileage pool with friends and family so that they can earn and spend miles together.

All you need to know about retroactive mileage credit

Can I have my miles credited retrospectively?

It is possible to process a retroactive mileage credit with Miles & More within six months of the date of the activity. With many partners you can arrange the credit using the relevant online form.
