help alliance: the aid organisation of the Lufthansa Group – In the world. With humanity

The charitable aid organisation of the Lufthansa Group, help alliance, has been helping disadvantaged people throughout the world since 1999. It is the central pillar of the social commitment and the home of all the aid initiatives of the Lufthansa Group. A Lufthansa Group employee is the project director responsible for all the approximately 30 projects around the world on a voluntary basis. The particular focus in these projects is education and promoting measures that generate income so that young people can live an independent life. More than 10,000 people benefit directly and indirectly from the work of the help alliance. The Lufthansa Group covers the administrative costs of its aid organisation with a generous donation so that every euro donated and every mile goes 100 per cent towards the work of the projects.

In order to improve the lives of disadvantaged people in the long term, help alliance works with qualified partners on the ground who have many years of experience in development cooperation and are familiar with people's needs. The work of the projects is aligned with the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The focus of the work is on the following themes:

The projects of help alliance span the entire globe. From promoting child-care facilities and schools in Kenya, help for street children in Honduras, right up to educational support in Germany. Alongside the Lufthansa Group staff who lead and look after the projects in their leisure time, you too can support the projects of help alliance with your miles donation from as little as 3,000 miles.

help alliance ensures that help is delivered exactly where it is needed and that people get sustainable help to help themselves. Lufthansa Group staff who are passionately committed to the projects of help alliance in their leisure time are otherwise employed as flight attendants, pilots, ground staff or management. You too can do good and support help alliance by donating the Miles & More award miles you have earned. From as little as 3,000 award miles you can choose between an open donation not linked to any theme or a donation to one of the themes of education, health and hygiene or nutrition. Your donation is guaranteed to go 100% to the projects.
