Famous for its cheese, Charmey is located in the heart of the Gruyère region, 1000 metres above sea level, in the charming Alpine foothills. In winter it boasts snow-covered ski slopes, cross-country ski tracks and winter hiking trails, while from spring to autumn, it wows hikers and climbers with its stunning peaks, breath-taking views and tranquil, deep-green mountain lakes.
Nestled amid this pristine landscape is the Romantik Hôtel de L’Etoile, which is set in an elegant seventeenth-century manor house. The hotel’s interior impresses with its contemporary chalet style, warm earthen colour scheme and the culinary genius of chef and host Alexandra Müller. Awarded a Michelin Star two years ago, Müller thrills guests with her colourful, sophisticated, contemporary French cuisine and high-quality local produce.
