Up to 65% mileage reduction from March for flight awards – Extra award miles at the ITB Berlin – Earn miles when buying tyres: Michelin becomes a Miles & More partner
Berlin/Frankfurt am Main, 5 March 2019 – Miles & More boosts the attractiveness of booking early with its Early Bird flight award. Fair visitors can look forward to a mileage treasure hunt at the Lufthansa Group stand. In addition, the tyre manufacturer Michelin, a supplier from the mobility sector, will be an addition to the partner portfolio of Europe’s leading frequent flyer and awards programme as of now.
Early Bird: New York for 20,000 miles!
With the Early Bird award, members will receive a mileage reduction of up to 65% on flight awards booked at least 90 days before the departure date. The offer applies to point-to-point flights with Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian Airlines in Economy Class, as well as all flights within Europe and selected intercontinental flights (about 90 routes). This means that on the Frankfurt to New York route, members only need 20,000 award miles with the Early Bird offer instead of the standard 60,000. The Early Bird complements the low-cost flight award offering in Economy Class, the mileage bargain and the last-minute booking product Fly Smart.
Sebastian Riedle, Senior Director of Miles & More GmbH: “Many customers appreciate that flights booked in advance are often associated with pricing benefits. This is what we are now also demonstrating in the award world with the Early Bird offer.” The company strives continuously to offer its members and partners additional added value. For example, Mileage Pooling was introduced last year, and allows up to two adults and five children to earn and redeem award miles together. In addition, with the Miles & More Collection, a new premium brand for exclusive travel offers was introduced on LufthansaHolidays.de.
Mileage treasure: fun earning miles at the ITB Berlin
Fair visitors can also accrue miles at this year’s ITB Berlin as part of an innovative treasure hunt. At the Lufthansa Group stand, there are NFC tags with the symbol hidden in them, with which up to 500 award miles can be earned. The treasure hunt starts immediately upon arrival when you visit the Lufthansa WorldShop at Tegel Airport with the chance to earn 100 miles there. At the same time, members can find out about the many options available for discovering the world with the Miles & More programme. In order to take part in the treasure hunt, an iPhone 7 or an NFC-enabled Android smartphone will be required, as well as the Miles & More app.
Michelin: The rubber hits the road with a new programme partner
Starting in March 2019, the tyre manufacturer Michelin will be expanding the loyalty programme’s partner portfolio. To mark their launch, members can earn up to 8 award miles per 1 euro spent when buying tyres, depending on tyre size. Members upload their proof of purchase in the Miles & More app – and then receive a credit for the number of miles corresponding to their purchase. “We are pleased to have won another extremely attractive partner for our very mobile members with Michelin,” said Riedle. The expansion of the comprehensive partner portfolio is constantly being driven forwards: with Shell, Zurich Insurance and Verimi, attractive partners have been won over the last few months.
