Terms and conditions

  • Flight award tickets and reduced tickets within the travel industry (e.g. ID or AD) are generally excluded from earning Miles and Points (Points, Qualifying Points and HON Circle Points). Further information about whether your booking class qualifies for earning miles can be found in the section “Earning Miles and Points” under the sub-section “Miles”.
  • Miles and Points can only be earned on scheduled flights operated by our partners.
  • Depending on the booking procedure, the miles credited are based on the ticket price, incl. airline surcharges, or on the purchased booking class. Not all booking classes qualify for earning miles. Information about which calculation method applies to your flight and whether your booking class qualifies for earning miles can be found in the section “Earning Miles and Points” under the sub-section “Miles”.
  • The Points you earn is based on the purchased travel class and on the table displayed in the section “Earning Miles and Points” under the sub-section “Points”.
  • Points can only be earned for a flight if miles are also credited for that same flight.
  • Please keep your boarding pass and a copy of your ticket until your miles have been automatically credited.
  • Some flight numbers and booking classes may not qualify for earning Miles and Points.
  • Please note our terms and conditions of participation.

Earning Miles and Points

Miles

Your miles are calculated according to the booking method chosen.

Calculation by airfare1

The following applies to flights booked via the booking system of an airline in the Lufthansa Group (Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, Eurowings, Lufthansa, Lufthansa City and SWISS):

Miles = airfare x 4 (or x 5 for members with frequent flyer status)

This calculation method also applies to flights booked via a travel agency or online travel agency, providing your ticket number begins with the numbers 220 (Lufthansa), 724 (SWISS), 257 (Austrian Airlines), 082 (Brussels Airlines), 101 (Air Dolomiti), or it is a ticket issued by the airline Eurowings. You’ll generally find your ticket number in your confirmation email or on your booking receipt.

Please note that the ticket price does not include any paid upgrades or other additional services, such as a seat allocation or excess baggage.

Calculation according to the booking class system

If you book via the booking system of another airline or through a travel agency or online travel agency and the first three digits of your ticket number are not 220 (Lufthansa), 724 (SWISS), 257 (Austrian Airlines), 082 (Brussels Airlines), 101 (Air Dolomiti), and it is not a Eurowings airline ticket, the miles will be calculated based on fixed mileage amounts or according to the flight distance and the booking class.

In Europe, fixed award mileage amounts apply for each booking class. For international flights, the booking class and distance in miles are the deciding factors. 25% of the award miles will be credited to you as status miles.

Points

Two criteria are used to determine the number of Points you earn on Turkish Airlines flights: the travel class and whether it is a continental or intercontinental flight. However, Points can only be earned for a flight if Miles are also credited for that same flight. Further information about whether your booking class qualifies for earning Miles can be found under the sub-section “Miles”.

Number of Points per flight segment

  Economy Class Business Class
Continental flights 20 40
Intercontinental flights 60 200

A continental flight is a flight segment for which the departure and arrival airports are on the same continent. For example, if you fly from Germany to Spain, both the departure and arrival airports are within Europe, and the flight therefore counts as a continental flight. Flights within Germany, Austria or Switzerland also count as continental flights.

An intercontinental flight is a flight segment for which the departure and arrival airports are on different continents. For example, if you fly from Germany to the USA, the departure and arrival airports are on different continents (Europe and North America). The flight segment therefore counts as an intercontinental flight.

Domestic flights count as continental flights. Please note that Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia count as part of the European zone, which means that flights from Germany to Tunisia, for example, count as continental flights.
