Earning Miles and Points
Miles
Your miles are calculated according to the booking method chosen.
Calculation based on airfare1
The following applies to flights booked via the booking channel of a Lufthansa Group airline (Air Dolomiti, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, Eurowings, Lufthansa, Lufthansa City and SWISS) :
Miles = airfare x 4 (or x 6 for members with frequent flyer status)
This method of calculation also applies to flights booked via a travel agency or online travel agency, providing the number of the flight ticket purchased starts with the following digits: 220 (Lufthansa), 724 (SWISS), 257 (Austrian Airlines), 082 (Brussels Airlines), 101 (Air Dolomiti), or if it is a Eurowings airline ticket. If you don’t know your ticket number, you can often find it in your confirmation email or on your receipt.
Please note that the airfare does not include payments for upgrades or for extra services such as seat allocation or excess baggage.
Calculation based on booking class system
If you book via the booking channel of another airline or through a travel agency or online travel agency and the first three digits of your ticket number are not 220 (Lufthansa), 724 (SWISS), 257 (Austrian Airlines), 082 (Brussels Airlines), 101 (Air Dolomiti), your miles will be based on fixed mileage amounts or the flight distance and booking class. This also applies if your ticket is not a Eurowings airline ticket.
In Europe, fixed mileage amounts apply for each booking class. On international flights, the mileage amounts are calculated according to the booking class and miles flown.
If you’ve booked a flight with LOT Polish Airlines and the first three digits of your ticket number are 080, your miles will be calculated according to the booking class.

Points, Qualifying Points and HON Circle Points
Two criteria are used to determine the number of Points, Qualifying Points and HON Circle Points you earn on LOT flights: the travel class and whether it is a continental or intercontinental flight. Points and Qualifying Points are awarded for all travel classes. HON Circle Points will only be awarded for Business Class flights.
However, Points, Qualifying Points and HON Circle Points can only be earned for a flight if Miles are also credited for that same flight. Further information about whether your booking class qualifies for earning Miles can be found under the sub-section “Miles”.
Number of Points, Qualifying Points and HON Circle Points per flight segment
Economy Class | Premium Economy Class | Business Class1 | |
---|---|---|---|
Continental flights | 20 | 20 | 40 |
Intercontinental flights | 60 | 80 | 200 |
HON Circle Points will only be awarded for Business Class flights.
A continental flight is a flight segment for which the departure and arrival airports are on the same continent. For example, if you fly from Poland to Italy, both the departure and arrival airports are within Europe, and the flight therefore counts as a continental flight. Flights within Germany, Austria or Switzerland also count as continental flights.
An intercontinental flight is a flight segment for which the departure and arrival airports are on different continents. For example, if you fly from Poland to the USA, the departure and arrival airports are on different continents (Europe and North America). The flight segment therefore counts as an intercontinental flight.
Domestic flights count as continental flights. Please note that Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia count as part of the European zone, which means that flights from Poland to Tunisia, for example, count as continental flights.
