Dr. Oliver Schmitt takes over as new Managing Director alongside Sebastian Riedle on the management board of Miles & More GmbH
Frankfurt am Main, February 8, 2021 - Change at the top: Dr. Oliver Schmitt is the new Managing Director of Miles & More GmbH alongside Sebastian Riedle. The 49-year-old succeeds Harald Deprosse, who will be devoting himself to new tasks after a successful seven years in the company's management, where he was involved in many groundbreaking initiatives. Schmitt is responsible for the sales division, which includes the Partner & Retail and Analytics/Data departments. Riedle is Spokesman of the Executive Board and will be responsible for the Loyalty business unit, which includes the Award & Status Programme, Marketing, Customer Service, IT, HR, Legal and Finance departments.

Focus on customer experience and stronger integration
In addition to his role as Managing Director of Miles & More GmbH, Schmitt is also responsible for Loyalty & Ancillary Services and Global Marketing as Senior Vice President within the Lufthansa Group. In this context, Schmitt wants to position Miles & More GmbH even more strongly within the airline environment and to interlink offers, innovative additional services and marketing more closely with the Lufthansa Group. The goal is to further strengthen customer loyalty and create an industry-leading customer experience along the entire travel chain.

Extensive experience and industry knowledge
Schmitt holds a doctorate in physics and can draw upon extensive experience with over 17 years in product development, marketing and sales as well as several years with the Lufthansa Group. Among other things, he worked for the mobile communications provider Telefonica O2 Germany for 14 years in the areas of e-commerce, online sales, analytical pricing as well as digital and affiliate marketing. In 2017, he moved to Eurowings for various management positions and a strong digital focus. Most recently, he was on the board of directors of Eurowings and as CCO was responsible for the commercial activities Sales & Marketing, Product, Pricing and Network Planning.
